SATURATETHECITYPRAYER

This Sunday, Ekklesia Communities will be scattering across Salt Lake City and Lehi to pray over our cities. We will gather together in two locations, SLC and Lehi (locations and times below), for a short time of worship through song, and then be sent out in groups to pray together. While we will be gathering in a different form this Sunday, we know that this will be an incredible time of worship, and be impactful for not only our own lives, but for the good of our city.

As followers of Jesus, we should be a people who are deeply committed to prayer. The early church in Acts was a church that was dedicated to not only to the gospel, to community, and to mission, but also to prayer. (Acts 1:24, 2:42, 4:24-31 6:6, 16:25, 20:36 and many more).

Here at Ekklesia Communities, we believe that we exist to see Utah Saturated with the Good News of Jesus. In saying that, we also believe that it is God is the one who is advancing His Kingdom here in Utah, and that He graciously invites us to be a part of it. We must be a people who rely on the power of God and His Spirit to move, dependent on Him alone to see change in out own lives, as well as our city.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer for Sunday. Let us ask God to prepare our hearts to intercede on behalf of our cities. Let us ask the Spirit to lead us to conversations and to see areas of brokenness and need in our cities.

Maybe this is your first time prayer walking and you are nervous or do not know what to expect. Maybe you are not confident or strong in your prayer life. THAT IS OKAY! We can be confident in the Spirit of God that is in us to do far greater things than we can even imagine!

We have provided a prayer guide to assist you in our time spent praying this weekend. We encourage you to use this resource to help prepare your heart for this weekend!
